“The Styler”
Description:
The Styler is my take on a Traditional noserider. I feel that Traditional nose riders often suffer from feeling a little like a one trick pony! Whilst the nose riding capabilities are off the chart, they can feel stiff, slow and unexciting.
My aim with ‘The Styler’ was to create a noserider that still has all the capability on the nose, but blends that with easier manoeuvrability for effortless cutbacks, and a more lively, exciting feel.
To achieve the feel I wanted I swapped the traditional defined spoon like concave for something more subtle, longer and blended, giving the board a smoother, quicker trim, better paddle speed ..especially in brisk off shores. I also pulled the wide point back on the template to give greater curve through the back half of the board and narrowed the nose a little - this gives the entire outline more curve whilst allowing me to keep a nice classically wide tail block. The tail also has a good kick in the rocker curve which helps facilitate those fluid cutbacks and sucks water over the tail to help nose rides.
All those elements are blended together with a slightly pinched 50/50 rail for a nice responsive feel, for a Noserider that does what its supposed to all in a more fun package!
Design features:
Subtle long blended nose concave
Gently rolled belly all the way to the tail
Wide point back
Slightly pinched 50/50 rail throughout
Flat rocker with good tail kick.
