The SVR came to life when I was searching for the buttery smooth feeling of the Blimp but in a mid-length single fin.

I took foundational elements of displacement hull design and mellowed them out to make a smooth, fast , buttery mid length that is functional in a wide range of breaks for a wide range of riders. Named the SVR because of the ‘S’ deck foil, ‘Vee’ through the tail, and ‘Roll’ through the belly of the board, and best described as a hybrid hull meets egg.

The SVR utilises the above features along along with a flat rocker, with gentle lift at noe and tail, tucked down rail in the tail to soft pinched (but not bladey) 50/50 rails which transitions to an up rail in the nose. This ‘down to up’ rail line is borrowed from Simmons and hull design, and really helps to dictate the ‘S’ deck foil as it transitions through the board. The original was 6’10, and i’ve built them from 6’4 (pictured here on the left) to 8’0. In 2018 I added gentle spiral vee through the tail as opposed to straight up Vee and I like the extra lift and acceleration this creates in the shorter - sub 6’10 lengths.

In short the SVR is a user friendly hully eggy midlength that feels smooth and silky fast, paddles and catches waves with ease and allows for effortless turns. It’s suitable for novice to advanced riders and perfect for clean 2-5ft conditions, and will really shine in point breaks or long mellow beach breaks where you can really enjoy the effortless trim, glide and fluid turns.
